FAQs

My experience, mostly. After sixteen years, you develop an intuition. A kind of sixth sense for where the magic is about to happen. But beyond that, I am deeply, personally invested in my work. This isn't just a job - it's the creation of your family's first heirloom. The trust you place in me for that task is taken very seriously. We'll prep and plan so that on the day, you can simply be present and enjoy it.

What makes you stand out from other photographers?

My style is candid and honest, but it’s also collaborative. While I bring a distinct point of view, your personalities are what make the images come to life. The most important thing is that you love my work. Not just the highlights, but full galleries from start to finish. I always encourage you to explore my past work to see complete wedding stories.

How would you describe your “Style”?

Always. I work with a small, dedicated group of trusted professional photographers who shoot with me at every wedding. Having two perspectives is essential. It allows us to be in two places at once, capturing both you and your partner getting ready, or documenting cocktail hour while I focus on family portraits. Think of it as seamless protection to ensure every important moment is captured beautifully.

Do you work with a second photographer to ensure full coverage?

Please don't worry. Feeling awkward in front of a camera is human nature. I feel it too. My job is to be your guide. I'll give you gentle direction to help you move and interact naturally, but I promise my role is to observe, not to shout "look at me!" We'll create a relaxed space where you can just focus on each other.

I'm so anxious about being in front of a camera. How will you help?

Is anyone's family truly ordinary? I hear this all the time, and I promise, we will make this part easy and painless. We'll plan the groupings in advance so no one is left out and any delicate relationships are handled with care. On the day, we'll be efficient and respectful - especially of older relatives - so everyone can get back to the celebration quickly.

My family is less than ordinary. How do you handle family photos?

You receive full rights for unlimited personal use of your photos - to print, share, and enjoy them forever. I retain the copyright, which allows me to use the images for my portfolio. However, I completely understand and respect that some clients prefer privacy. If that's you, just let me know, and we can discuss an agreement that fits your needs.

Who owns my pictures?

Absolutely. I believe your photos deserve to live somewhere more permanent than a hard drive (or in the Cloud). I offer beautiful, professional-quality prints and albums and will make that process incredibly simple for you.

Can I buy albums from you?

Of course! It's your wedding - tell me what's important to you, and we'll find a way to make it happen.

I have an unusual photo that I want to capture. Can you accommodate?

I like to keep the process simple. A signed contract and a retainer officially reserves your date. The final balance is then due two weeks before your wedding.

How do I book?

I'd love to. My Somerville office is always stocked with beverages, and it’s the best way to see the quality of my albums in person. If you can't make it here, a video call at your convenience works just as well.

Can we meet?

My studio is in Somerville, MA, but I regularly photograph weddings all over New England and New York. And yes, I'm always ready to travel beyond that for a good story.
